The First Butterfly Count of the season on the Northern Neck is slated for Tuesday 28 May 2024.

This is the Northumberland-Lancaster Spring 2024 Butterfly Count.  This is the fifth year for the spring count for the NNK.  

The sponsor for the Spring count again this year is the Northern Neck Native Plant Society.  

The information about the four sectors and how to signup for the butterfly count is at the bottom of this event.

To signup for the count please respond back to Jeff Wright with the sector you want to count in. You will then be contacted by the sector leader who will be managing where folks will be counting and how they plan to collect count data electronically.

The event is open to all.  No problem If you are new to butterfly counts and identifying and counting butterflies and skippers.  We will makes sure you are teamed with some of our more experienced folks within the sector you are interested in being part of the event.
