Matt Little leading a Tour of Virginia Landscape Designers

Touring the Stunning Living Shoreline

Our September Meeting will be at The Tides Inn on Sept. 19th featuring a new, hands-on Shoreline Program led by Horticulturist, Matt Little and Ecologist, Will Smith. We will divide into two groups for an in-depth look at the thriving shoreline and surrounding slope stabilization plantings and learn more about how they measure the ecological benefits of this cutting-edge shoreline planting to the water quality and marine life of the watershed. Members are encouraged to join us for lunch and social at the Fish Hawk Restaurant before the meeting, including lunch on your own at the Fish Hawk Restaurant which opens at 11:30. The program and Tour will begin at 12:30 in front of the Fish Hawk Restaurant nest to the Shoreline. The Shoreline Garden looks fantastic and has filled in beautifully since we last visited over two years ago. The Tour and demonstrations will last about an hour, but Matt will lead members who would like to stay for an optional tour of new native plantings around the grounds and the kitchen and meadow gardens across from Tides Inn. Space will be limited so please RSVP to me at nnvnps@gmail.com
